Following his exit from Valentino in July, he will take over from Susan Chokachi after 25 years of service at Gucci.
As Milan Fashion Week is fast approaching, Gucci has actively been working on regaining its position on the luxury fashion leader board. After appointing Sabate de Sarno as Creative Director back in January, the Florentine brand has called Alessio Vannetti back home by naming him Chief Brand Officer and Executive Vice President.
After working as a Communications Director for Gucci from 2015 to 2019, Vannetti joined the Valentino team in 2020 as Chief Brand Officer for the brand until July 2023. This announcement comes shortly after Kering’s recent partial acquirement of Valentino from Mayhoola. By calling back Vannetti, Gucci group is asserting their desire to keep their talents within the company.
Following Alessandro Michele departure from Gucci, the brand’s sales have been reported to be stagnating. By appointing Alessio Vannetti, who has experience with the brand, Gucci aims at revitalising the brand’s image, and sales. He will be working closely with the Lead Marketing Operations to reassert Gucci’s heritage story by overseeing “the company’s strategic brand and image direction, marketing, communications, metaverse, and client engagement efforts” said the direction.
“Vannetti’s extensive experience across prominent fashion brands, combined with his deep understanding of Gucci’s legacy, makes him the right choice to steer our brand forward” said Jean-François Palus, Interim Chief Executive Officer for Gucci talking about reintegrating Vannetti into the Gucci group.
