The iconic Parisian brand has cemented its reputation with its AW24 show.
Set in a spacious, dark environment made to look like blocks of flats, the AMI Paris runway embodied a Parisian essence in a way not many brands can. The show invitations, which included catalogues, utility bills, and postcards often left in residents’ mailboxes and scattered on its streets were reflective of daily life in the city.
Several fashion icons took to the runway for the tribute to Parisian life, including Audrey Marnay and Laetitia Casta. Their experience within the industry was a contribution to the overall elegance of the collection. Marked by impeccable tailoring, the runway emulated the word “chic” with a dash of nonchalance and style, in a word, very French. Relying heavily on neutrals within the colour scheme, the juxtaposition of sharp tailoring and softened silhouettes did a wonderful job of portraying the progression of a working day. With additions of more casual elements, such as tanks, sparkling slip dresses, jeans, and jumpers, a true balance of business casual was achieved without being reminiscent of a dull office environment.
The collection presented a pleasant balance between streetwear and the workplace, creating comfortable, classic looks. The transitions into more casual pieces were seamless, ensuring an air of accessibility despite the sharpness of others, and highlighted why AMI’s runways are consistently looked forward to.
