By Valentine Fabre

Andam Awards

For the 34th consecutive year, the globally renowned Andam Prize will be awarded to a fellowship of 5 emerging fashion designers, across different categories as a way to support and recognise young designers. The jury will be meeting today, to choose the 5 winners amongst the 12 selected finalists.

Martin Margiela, Christophe Lemaire, Viktor & Rolf, Jeremy Scott, Gareth Puth, Coperni, recognize those names? They all have one thing in common: each of them have previously been awarded the Andam Prize. Ever since its creation in 1989 by Nathalie Dufour, the French Ministry of Culture and Pierre Bergé (DEFI), with its first prize being awarded to the Belgian designer of the now iconic Tabi shoes (Martin Margiela), the organisation has been uplifting some of today’s most innovative talents.

Distinguished between 5 categories, Grand & Special Prize, Pierre Bergé Prize, Accessories Prize and Innovative Prize, the jury constituted of 31 members will be carrying interviews of each of the twelve finalists alongside the presentation of their collection. The winners will be awarded a financial compensation between 100,000€ and 300,000€ depending on the category, as well as support from industry leaders.

The six finalists for the Grand Prize this year are Ester Manas, GmbH, Latink, Gauchere, LGN Louis-Gabriel Nouchi and Andreādamo. Each designer has been selected for their innovative approach to fashion, thanks to their dedication to either size-inclusivity, sustainability and/or gender-neutrality.

The nominees for the Pierre Bergé Award are Avellano by Arthur Avellano, Ouest Paris and Vaillant, whilst the contestants for the Accessories Prize are Alighieri, Panconesi and Ruslan Baginskiy.
