Martine Rose is a British fashion designer who has been making waves in the industry since her eponymous label debuted in 2007.

Rose's designs are known for their avant-garde aesthetic and their exploration of subcultures. Rose is also a pioneer in genderless fashion, creating garments that can be worn by people of all genders.

Born in Croydon, in 1980. Rose studied fashion design at Middlesex University London, where she developed her interest in subcultures and their influence on fashion. After graduating, she worked for several fashion houses, including Alexander McQueen and Maison Margiela. In 2007, Rose launched her label, which quickly gained a cult following among fashion insiders. She is also well known for her unconventional approach to presenting her collections, often showing them in unconventional venues like rock climbing centres and markets.

Designs heavily influenced by subcultures like rave, hip-hop, and punk, Rose often draws inspiration from the clothing and accessories worn by the people in these subcultures who come from all walks of life. She reinterprets them in a modern and fashion-forward way, creating oversized and androgynous looks, Rose's designs tend to avoid traditional gender signifiers like tailoring and ornamentation in her pieces. Her SS24 collection emulates this as it features oversized silhouettes, bold graphics, and unconventional use of materials, whilst continuing her exploration of genderless fashion.

Rose has been recognised for her work with numerous awards, including the ANDAM Prize for Emerging Designers in 2017 and the BFC/Vogue Fashion Fund in 2018. She has also been nominated for the LVMH Prize and the BFC's British Menswear Designer of the Year award.

Martine Rose has had a significant impact on the fashion industry with her designs garnering praise globally for their originality and their ability to challenge traditional notions of masculinity and femininity. As a visionary designer, Rose's designs are always thought-provoking, making her an inspiration to aspiring designers and fashion lovers around the world.
