The brand’s Paris Fashion Week collection Fashion Week was inspired by the upcoming Summer Olympics.

Paris Fashion Week 2024 saw Casablanca’s Charaf Tajer take inspiration from the upcoming Olympics. However, the collection surprisingly didn't include sportswear or the token colours of the game, but a more athleisure look — it took us back in fact to their origins in ancient Greece and the use of psychedelics by its famed philosophers.

The brand took an immense step outside of the beach-ready collections it is renowned for and brought out classic looks that played on the references of ancient Greece. Draping that was reminiscent of togas could be seen throughout the collection, on various pieces including blazers and evening dresses, and popular sporty looks such as varsity jackets and polo shirts also made an appearance.

Shimmer had a strong presence in this collection, as glitzy fabrics were combined with recognisable symbols such as laurels, and Olympic rings were embedded into the designs. Gladiators rounded off a few of the looks and truly brought forth the Ancient Greek source of inspiration.

Casablanca’s ode to the upcoming Olympics in Paris, was as clever as it was fun, bringing many wearable pieces to its audience, some of which we could potentially see at the games sometime soon. It will certainly be interesting to see what direction the brand will take following this successful venture into a new style.
