LVMH has announced the appointment of Prada owned Miu Miu’s CEO Benedetta Petruzzo as the new Managing Director of Christian Dior. Reporting to CEO Delphine Arnault, Petruzzo will replace Charles Delapalme effective October 15th, as he moves onto a currently undisclosed new role within the LVMH group.

Petruzzo oversaw massive business growth in her four years at Miu Miu, boasting an astounding 93% growth in sales year on year in the six months ending 30th June 2024. “I am convinced that Benedetta’s talent and leadership will be major assets in the continued development of Dior’s activities and its international influence,” Delphine Arnault stated. The Christian Dior Group recorded revenue of €41.7 billion in the first half of 2024. It remains to be seen how her leadership will impact Dior's profitability by the end of 2024, and if she can increase sales as she did with Miu Miu.

Petruzzo started her career in 2009 as an analyst in consulting firm Bain & Company, before moving onto the Italian fashion house from Kering’s eyewear division for five years, most recently as North America Executive Vice President. Now she will oversee Dior's global operations, including product development, marketing, and retail strategy.

Petruzzo said “I am deeply honoured to join Dior. I am proud to have been entrusted with this great responsibility and to join such an iconic house. “I would like to warmly thank Delphine Arnault for the trust she has given me, and I look forward to collaborating closely with the Executive Committee and the Zones Presidents to further contribute to the development of Dior’s business.”

Prior to her role at Miu Miu, Petruzzo held various leadership positions within the Prada Group. Her experience and expertise in the luxury sector have equipped her with the skills necessary to navigate the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead for Dior.

With Petruzzo at the helm, Dior is poised to further strengthen its position as a leading luxury fashion brand. Her innovative approach and passion for the industry are expected to drive the brand's continued success and evolution.
