Coming home to London where it all began for the luxury Maison.
Taking place in the world renowned Tate Modern, in London, the show marked Sabato De Sarno's first Cruise collection and a return back to London for the brand, after almost eight years.
Drawing reference from the brand's rich history, as its founder Guccio Gucci, began his career in London as a bellboy at the Savoy hotel- enchanted with the guests and their luggage, Guccio launched his brand which was made up of luxury luggage. De Sarna's first Cruise collection is an ode to this passion that is still a core of the brand today.
The Tate Moder Turbine Hall was transformed into a luxurious garden, featuring stools with a reflective finish, nestled amongst pockets of sprouting grass that emitted the fragrance of nearby floral plantings. As always, when Gucci calls celebrities answer. The front was row was filled with celebrities such as Salma Hayek, Kate Moss, Dua Lipa, Solange Knowles, Law Roach, and many more.

A key inspiration for De Sarno's Cruise collection was the oversized green varsity jacket, a bold American fashion statement, that Princess Diana, the epitome of Sloane style, wore for school pickups in the 1990s. Blowing the jackets to even bigger proportions, he paired them with long, flowing plissé dresses in lovely pinks and melons. Bringing back Romanticism to the brand, the pussybow was a mainstay in the collection, appearing on softer silhouettes like chiffon blouses paired with suede cape jackets.
Elsewhere, Classic check coats were reimagined in pastel hues, while tailored suits blossomed with floral embellishments. A standout was the plaid baby blue double-breasted style, a marriage of masculine and feminine. The soft pink coat with rounded shoulders was equally eye-catching, a nod to a gentler silhouette. The playful spirit continued with "little suits" and coats featuring bracelet sleeves adorned with delicate daisies. Glass beaded fringed skirts and coats made an appealing clink and clank as they moved down the runway.
Statement bags were central to De Sarno's collection this season. From oversized Jackie styles. to the revival of the ever-chic Blondie bag. Reimagined in sleek leather and monogram options, the Gucci favourite was a standout of the show. The collection also celebrated the brand's 70th anniversary by incorporating the signature Horsebit detail onto cropped outerwear.
The Gucci Cruise 2025 collection marks De Sarno's strongest collection yet. As he builds a name for himself within the brand it's clear to see how the Gucci heritage is being interpreted in his own way for the modern women. Embracing practicality without losing its romance and edge.
