Here are 3 tips to help you on your way.
Forget endless trends and fad-fuelled purchases. Finding your true style isn't about a fleeting moment on the runway, it's about crafting a wardrobe that whispers your story, amplifies your confidence, and makes you feel invincible whenever you step outside. But where do you start? Start with tip number one.
Tip One
Experimenting with style is all about being inspired. Before you get into the resources, identify your preferences. Seeking inspiration can come in many different forms: rearrange that Instagram feed, follow people with great fashion sense, or experience things outside, fashion is everywhere. Stroll through the streets, take note of diverse clothing styles, and challenge yourself to envision “How could I add my own touch to that outfit”, get creative! If you find an outfit you really like, recreate it with your own touch!
Tip Two
Fashion is a form of art. A sure way of growing in this art is to connect with other art forms. Our clothing choices often reflect the media we consume including films we watch, the music we listen to, and even the books we read. If you’re finding it hard to piece things together regarding fashion, reflect on the things you may be consuming. Watch more films if you have to, and explore diverse content. Let what you absorb creatively become your muse. I find that I begin envisioning outfits when I immerse myself in good music.

Tip Three
Expressing your individuality through style is everything. The essence lies in feeling true to yourself as you slip into your attire. To master this, understand what it is you want and align it with your identity. Envision your best self – what traits come to mind? Whatever comes to mind, pair it with specific clothing items. Personally, when aiming for a cool vibe, I gravitate towards leather; lace, on the other hand, brings a certain allure and is sure to provoke, and a bold red lip exudes confidence. Connect your emotions and identity with clothing and beauty choices, seek out those pieces, and embrace the authentic you!
So here's to silencing the inner critic and confidently saying, "This is me, perfectly and authentically styled." As you walk out the door, don't just wear your clothes, but embody the story they tell, because when you find your personal style, your confidence can receive a boost, and that's a statement that never goes out of fashion.
