After a legendary 10 year tenure, the British designer is exiting the French brand.
Maison Margiela’s Artisinal show this past January rightfully shook up the fashion world and seemingly wrapped up John Galliano’s opus at the house. Despite justifiable interest and widespread speculation, the fashion icon has kept his cards close to his chest, with no indication for future plans within the industry.
John Galliano joined Maison Margiela as creative director in 2014, and marked his tenth year at the helm of the fashion house this year. Owned by the OTB Group, led by Diesel founder Renzo Rosso, Margiela experienced significant growth during Galliano's tenure.

The heartfelt letter posted on the designer’s Instagram expressed his gratitude for the decade-long tenure at the French house, and emphasised the significance of his collaboration with Martin Margiela throughout his time at the brand.
While there are many predictions as to where Galliano may go next, the only way in which the designer addressed speculations was, “When the time is right, all will be revealed”. It may be difficult to stay patient while waiting for further news on the legendary designer, but it’ll all be worth the wait to see what Galliano does next.
