Loewe SS24
Loewe unveiled another season of subtle surrealism matched with a sense of pratical everyday essentials.
If there's one thing we love about Jonathan Anderson it's that he is never afraid to embrace the new. Proven by his past work which has been filled with Minecraft-inspired designs, verdant shoes, and coats as well as body-printed dresses. This time around, the British designer unveiled trousers that were so high-waisted that they would make suspenders obsolete. The collection was infused with practical office-wear pieces with certain wearability that makes their avant-garde approach to fashion more digestible.
The most striking parts of the collection with its 1970s references, were the fluid shapes and unexpected proportions. Oversized tops were paired with ultra high-waisted trousers, and skirts cascaded to the floor in voluminous layers. Anderson also played with different necklines, creating asymmetrical silhouettes and cut-outs in unexpected places.

One of the standout pieces from the collection was a yellow gown with a post-it-like neckline and cascading skirt. Another was a cocoon-shaped knit dress that immobilized the model's body. Anderson also brought back some fan-favourite designs, such as the Puzzle bag and the Gate bag.
Anderson's collaboration with Lynda Benglis was one of the highlights of the collection. Benglis created an installation of monumental bronze sculptures for the runway shows, as well as a series of jewellery pieces that were worn by the models. The jewellery pieces were inspired by Benglis's work with poured and extruded materials. They were made from gold, sterling silver, crystal, aluminium, and enamel, and were knotted, pleated, and draped in organic shapes.
It is safe to say that, as per usual, the brand did not disappoint, a celebration of silhouette, proportion, and collaboration. Anderson's designs are both innovative and wearable.
