Louis Vuitton flew to the buzzing city of Seoul, South Korea for its Pre-Fall 2023 collection. Adequately titled 'Movement,' Louis Vuitton stopped traffic for 24 hours, staging the show on Jamsugyo Bridge, making it a truly metaphorical bridging of the gap between East and West. the Han River served as a perfect backdrop for the show, going hand in hand with the element of movement the collection represented. Nicolas Ghesquière unveil his pre-fall 2023 offering along the bridge, alongside Hwang Dong-Hyuk who was the creative advisor,

Opening the show was none other than Squid Game star and Louis Vuitton ambassador Hoyeon Jung in a chunky windbreaker and leather skirt, carrying an XL Alma bag. Ghesquière explored many juxtapositions in this collection, the clasp of his supersized key pouch from previous seasons made a return, only this time as a belt. The collection was filled with sporty moto jackets, red jumpsuits, bi-colour jeans, and flat boots; belts connected each look in one way or another.

The collection displayed references to the Korean street style, sharp tailoring and high shoulders that Ghesquière is known for. Tops with deep-V moulded to their bodies and sheer mesh panels made their way down the runway, alongside billowing tops, strict suiting, and overcoats in pinstripes and checkerboard patterns. Ghesquière's signature colours of rich reds, blues, and yellows, countered by blacks, whites, and beiges gave doses of colour and reprieve, respectively, with no one pattern or hue overwhelming the others. Amongst the exaggerated accessories, chunky shoes were the base of all the looks, adding a sense of wearability that the whole collection seemed to emulate.
