In a momentous shift at the helm of Gucci, Marco Bizzari, the visionary CEO who has led the fashion powerhouse since 2015, has announced his departure.

Bizzari's transformative tenure, aimed at "Gucci-fying" the world, alongside creative director Alessandro Michele, propelled the Italian brand to new heights of success. Whilst their collaborative efforts yielded remarkable revenue and profit growth, the profound impact of the COVID-19 pandemic saw Michele bid adieu to the brand last November, and now Bizzari is following suit.

In a press release that sent shockwaves through the industry, Kering, the conglomerate behind Gucci, revealed that Bizzari's final day in his esteemed position will be September 23, 2023. During this transitional period, Jean-François Palus, the capable managing director of Kering, will step in as interim president and CEO, relocating to the fashion capital of Milan and temporarily relinquishing his seat on the Board of Directors.

This executive shuffle forms part of a broader strategic realignment aimed at fortifying the organization and seizing the boundless opportunities within the thriving global luxury market. François-Henri Pinault, the Chairman and CEO of Kering, passionately asserts that these changes will pave the way for enduring success and sustainable growth.

Notably, Francesca Bellettini, the president and CEO of Yves Saint Laurent, will embark on an expanded role as Kering's Deputy CEO for Brand Development. In this prestigious position, she will orchestrate the growth trajectory of all Group Houses and guide the diverse portfolio of brand CEOs. Simultaneously, Jean-Marc Duplaix, the chief financial officer of Kering, will assume the role of Deputy CEO of Operations and Finance, with a laser focus on optimising efficiency and fostering greater accountability across the organisation.

In light of Bizzari's impending departure, Pinault graciously acknowledges the indelible impact he has made on the triumphant journey of Gucci and Kering as a whole. He conveys his heartfelt appreciation for Bizzari's exceptional contributions, wishing him well in all future endeavours. Pinault is confident that these strategic changes will position Kering for long-term prosperity while nurturing an environment conducive to profitability and creative brilliance.

As Gucci bids farewell to a visionary leader, the fashion industry eagerly anticipates the appointment of a new CEO who will shape the brand's trajectory in the next chapter of its storied history. This transition signifies a pivotal moment for Gucci, teeming with potential for innovation, evolution, and captivating narratives. Embodied by its rich heritage and global influence, Gucci remains an eminent force, poised to captivate audiences and push boundaries under fresh leadership.
