A favourite of any fashion month, New York Fashion Week has once again brought us key looks for the rest of the year.
Khaite’s Emphasis On Accessories

Moving away from the brand’s trademark bubble stud, Khaite brought headwear to this season’s runway. 1930s era ascot caps were used as outfit accents throughout the collection, which presented elegant, streamlined looks and silhouettes. The classic looks were emphasised with cinched waists, transparent fabrics, a-line leather coats and asymmetrical outerwear.
A Redebut For Calvin Klein

Veronica Leoni’s debut as creative director of the fashion house was an ode to modern minimalism and every office worker’s dream. The muted colours throughout the collection were layered with sharply tailored blazers and coats, making for a collection of chic and simple, yet modern, office wear.
Luar’s Reclamation Of Power

Vogue Runway
Raul Lopez used his collection to celebrate everything that once seemed like weakness for a queer man from the Caribbean. Turning suits into drag, flamboyant silhouettes and Ana bags as a nod to the women of his family. Emphasising the brand’s tagline, “for the culture”, Lopez has stayed loyal to his roots in more ways than one and platforming voices that often get overlooked through his designs, cementing a legacy for the brand as it moves forward.
Thom Browne’s Flock Of Fashion

Returning to his closing position of New York Fashion Week after a season off, Thom Browne brought ornithology, the study of birds, to the runway in every way imaginable. From origami birds adorning the runway to the bird elements intricately worked into the models’ makeup, the unique runway did wonders to emphasise the ballgown silhouettes, fabric layering and reimagined varsity sportswear. Thom Browne’s comeback definitely did not disappoint, leaving us with unique, innovative looks.
Michael Kors Shows Reimagined Classics

Aiming for nonchalant chic, Michael Kors created a collection that encompassed a feeling of glamour alongside a, “this old thing?” sentiment. Kors’ idea of grabbing a coat last minute came across clearly and stylishly, with oversized tailoring, sweaters and jackets embodying a feeling of comfort and grace expressed by grabbing just the right piece before running out the door. Epitomising laid-back elegance, the collection was a show of timeless, effortlessly chic pieces.
