This Season with many standout shows and presentations, Shanghai Fashion Week has certainly made a name for itself. From Clots Chinese Café presentation to Mark Gong's collection inspired by traditional housewives, the week brought many incredible collections and iconic moments, so here's what you might have missed.

CLOT 凝結冰室

The CLOT pop-up debuted during Shanghai Fashion Week, presenting not only vibrant pieces, but a singular experience of connecting fashion with culinary heritage. The event offered a special menu alongside limited-edition merchandise and tasked the models with server duties as they presented the SS25 collection. Alongside the latest CLOT x Adidas collaboration, the streetwear collection oozed Hong Kong café culture with nods to both nostalgia and modern design throughout.

JOYCE BAO

Another significant debut this Shanghai Fashion Week was the brand JOYCE BAO, introduced by LABELHOOD. The brand’s first collection was a seamless blend between historical and modern, with pieces taken from both Eastern and Western culture. Ranging from Victorian-era lingerie to traditional Chinese clothing and designs resembling body armour from history books, the collection challenges long-standing stereotypes of Asian women while creating a balanced, elegant connection between different sides of temporal and geographical spectrums.

Officeh

Officeh’s Zewei Hong presented a collection with an astounding variety in design, incorporating impeccably tailored silhouettes alongside inflatable pieces that ranged from trousers to hoodies. The collection was split into three categories, citing white collar, blue collar and outdoor wear, and although eyes may have drifted to the vibrant, inflatable items that took to the runway, the elegantly tailored silhouettes of the collection remained a focal point.

Hengdi Wang

Despite being founded just last year and very fresh on the scene, Hengdi Wang was definitely one to watch this Shanghai Fashion Week. Using elements of biometrics and transhumanism, the collection presented exoskeletons on the surface of its pieces. Including experimentation with geometry and surrealism, each piece presented a unique take on the human form.

Mark Gong

Opening Shanghai Fashion Week, Mark Gong took inspiration from Sex and the City’s Charlotte York. The runway took place in a setting resembling the iconic character’s Park Avenue penthouse and reimagined the more traditional, classically WASP style Charlotte donned throughout the series in a modern, playful context. The collection played with gingham, polka dots and floral appliqués pattern wise, while sharp silhouettes and classic little black dresses outlined the powerful, modern woman this evolved Charlotte York symbolises.

From debuts to established brands, Shanghai has presented us with many unforgettable moments and looks we’re sure to see more of in the upcoming year.
