Spanning from September 25th to October 3rd, the Parisian fashion week is the longest of the month. From incredible first-timers to usual giants of the fashion industry, here is what to expect from this upcoming week.
The Debutants
While some brands have been here since the creation of the most prestigious week in fashion, others will be making their debut in Paris with their SS24 collection. Peter Do, who unveiled his first collection as creative director of Helmut Lang during the latest New York Fashion Week, will be travelling to the city of love with his namesake brand. Christopher Esber another New York Fashion Week regular, will also make Paris his main stage this season, as his eponymous brand unveils its SS24 collection on Thursday September 28th.
The Heavyweights
Of course, Paris Fashion Week wouldn’t be what it is today without some of the most influential fashion Maisons. Christian Dior will be unveiling its collection on September 26th, the same day as Saint Laurent, whilst Chanel’s will take place on the 3rd of October. Giambattista Valli, Comme des Garçons and Maison Margiela will also be a part of the party. Olivier Rousting’s Balmain will also be unveiling his collection as planned on the 27th, despite a recent car hijack that left him with fifty missing garments.
Farewells
Sadly, two houses will say goodbye to their creative directors after this Paris Fashion Week. Gabriela Hearst will be unveiling her last collection for Chloé after making it the first brand to achieve sustainable certifications, whilst Sarah Burton, Lee McQueen’s right hand, will also be leaving after 13 years of service, leaving the public wondering who will be the next visionary of the iconic brand.
Paris Fashion Week promises a time rich in emotion and new discoveries that leave us filled with high expectations.
